What is CEDH and what are CEDH Teams?

CEDH is a competitive commander format for Magic The Gathering. We at Animal House Cards want to give our players more opportunities to compete at a larger level and improve their piloting skills.

We have two CEDH teams that are directly sponsored by us to go and compete at regional and national level events. We have a Tier One Team, and Tier Two Team.

Tier One is the best of the best and is based primarily on performance at our local events and at practice events.

Tier Two is based on performance, but also takes into account several other factors, such as attendance at events, sportsmanship, and participation in the community.

CEDH Practice Events

We offer numerous events for our community to participate in such as CEDH practice tournaments, 2K tournaments, 5K tournaments, 10K tournaments, and CEDH specific weekend tournaments.

The most valuable we find for players interested in getting into CEDH or who are looking to expand their skills is the CEDH Tuesday Practice Tournament. This event begins at 5pm every Tuesday for some relaxed practice, at 7PM on Tuesdays the practice tournament starts. These tournaments have a $5 entry and the winner gets to choose from the appropriate tier of CEDH staple cards based on the number of entries.

More robust practice events are available and we work hard to draw in talented players from outside the area to compete in these events to give our local players the opportunity to see new decks and pilots in action. These events usually have a higher entry cost but much higher prize pool.

Types of Events

Tuesday Practice Tournaments

This event begins at 5pm every Tuesday for some relaxed practice, at 7PM on Tuesdays the practice tournament starts. These tournaments have a $5 entry and the winner gets to choose from the appropriate tier of CEDH staple cards based on the number of entries. Showing up at 5PM is not required, but players should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the 7PM Tournament.

All Players are welcome at these events and are encouraged to come enjoy the game.

2K, 5K, and 10K Tournaments

Three distinct monthly events that we offer at Animal House Cards are our different "K" Tournaments. All of these events are TopDeck Gold tier events and are recorded as such.

2K: $2000 in prize winnings, split amongst the top 8 players. Splits may vary from tournament to tournament based on player feedback but as of writing $1000 is usually top prize. This is a 60 person event that is on the entry level side of tournaments that breach the $1000+ prize pool. Entry is typically $30 for these events and are held 8 times per year.

5K: A step above the 2K, this tournament has $5000 in prizes. This may be cash, cards, or other product and varies from 5K to 5K. These events are usually going to be run in the $60 entry range and typically have a 72 seat or more attendance and are held 3 times per year, quarterly.

10K: This is the top level event here at Animal House Cards and features $10,000 in prize winnings. These events are held once a year and will have the stiffest competition. Players who want to play in these events should bring their A-Game.

All of these events bring players from outside the area and is a fantastic opportunity to test your skills against players from all over the map.

Ranking Tournaments

Every so often, we host Ranking tournaments to help rank players and determine qualifications for the CEDH teams that we sponsor. Placing high in the "K" Tournaments, doing well in the practice Tuesdays, and placing well in these events will solidify a spot for you on one of the teams.
